Although the leaves are falling and both ambient and water temperatures are starting to drop, the fishing season isn’t dead yet for anglers in Bucks County. Sure, the air is a bit cooler, and the fish are lethargic, but who wants to sit inside when you have the amazing Pennsylvania outdoors to explore? While the bite may be a bit slow this November, we’re going to share five of our must-fish spots that will make it worth your while to get out on the water (or banks) one last time.

Lake Nockamixon

One of Bucks County's most popular and legendary lakes, Lake Nockamixon is a true marvel to explore. This local man-made lake is an angler's paradise teeming with a variety of fish species, including largemouth bass, catfish, perch, bluegill and the ever-elusive muskie.

With plenty of banks and piers to fish off and multiple boat launches to choose from, Lake Nockamixon is an absolute must-fish spot for anyone looking to get their lines wet this November.

The key to a successful day at Nockamixon during the fall season is patience and dedication. As always covering water Stay flexible and keep tabs on the weather and water temperatures as fish tend to swim to the shallows when temperatures drop. Using a fish finder can be a game-changer, helping you locate not only fish, but underwater structure as well.

Before you head out to Lake Nockamixon, make sure to stop by the service center at Highway Marine for a pre-launch boat inspection to ensure a smooth day on the water.

Lake Galena

A popular spot for most Bucks County anglers, Lake Galena at Peace Valley Park is the perfect spot to get some lines wet. This picturesque body of water, once a site of farming and mining, is now a go-to destination for local and out-of-state anglers alike. Here you'll find a variety of fish species, including largemouth bass, channel catfish, bluegill and more.

To haul in a nice fish at Lake Galena this November, we recommend targeting areas with cover, shallow water and any underwater structure your fish finder identifies. While there is never a guarantee in the world of fishing — unless we're talking about getting snagged — this is one of the best ways to reel in a nice fish at Lake Galena in November.

So, whether you're a seasoned angler or a novice, it's worth exploring the fishing opportunities that Lake Galena has to offer. Stop by our service department for a quick pre-launch boat inspection before you head over to Peace Valley Park to land some lunkers!

Lake Warren

Tucked away in Upper Black Eddy, Lake Warren is a small and often overlooked body of water that’s closer to being a swamp than a lake but is still worth the visit. This small “lake” is full of lily pads and underwater vegetation and while that may make boating a bit difficult, it makes the fishing pretty amazing.

If you’re going to visit Lake Warren, we recommend breaking out a more mobile boat like a Crestliner Jon Boat paired with a pair of oars and a trolling motor. While the vegetation will make navigating with the trolling motor difficult, having a pair of oars will help you get into those shallow backwaters where the lunkers lie.

Boat too big for Lake Warren? That’s okay, just stop by the showroom here at Highway Marine and we’ll get you set up with the perfect jon boat for fishing Lake Warren and similar shallow and overgrown bodies of water. Visit us on Rt. 309 in Quakertown today!

Lake Towhee

Another small lake off the beaten path, Lake Towhee is a great place to fish when more pressured lakes like Nockamixon aren’t producing. Here you will find a good mix of both open water and vegetation, along with plenty of bass, catfish and sunfish swimming along looking for a snack. If you’re visiting Lake Towhee in November, remember to target shallow water and areas with cover to produce solid results.

One of the best parts of Lake Towhee is in its surrounding facilities. While you’re fishing, the family can enjoy a playground, picnic benches, ball fields and more courtesy of Bucks County. Before you head out for a day at Lake Towhee, stop by the service center at Highway Marine for pre-launch boat inspection and battery check today!

The Giving Pond

While the Delaware River gets a lot of hype and attention, the Giving Pond is a hidden gem of fishing in Upper Black Eddy. Formerly a sand-and-gravel quarry, Giving Pond is a 62-acre lake filled with structure, ledges, cover and plenty of fish.

The Giving Pond does have available launch facilities, but you’re going to want to bring the small boat for a day on the water here. Something like a mod-v jon boat would be perfect for navigating the calm waters of Giving Pond while being nimble enough to get to the true honey holes.

Although you may not catch a lunker here, you’ll be hard pressed to not have a productive day of fishing at the Giving Pond. Before you make the trek to the Giving Pond, stop by our service center for a pre-launch boat inspection and all your other boating needs!
